The Knights of Columbus is the largest Catholic fraternal and humanitarian organization ever created.
Council 311, founded in 1898, is a proud, old council.  Our home base, The Church of St. Augustine, was founded in 1853 by Irish immigrants who came to Ossining to work on the Croton Aqueduct delivered water from the Croton Watershed into Manhattan.
These are precisely the type of men that Father Michael J. McGivney formed the Knights of Columbus around and for.
Today's Knights do not have the same dire needs of the original men, and, while, the Knights of Columbus still look after their own, we are driven by our good fortune to bring our service to others less fortunate, no matter where they may be, or whatever their need.
A Knight serves all, because, he is dedicated to serving The One.
